Spaceship Car.
My spaceship car is an art car designed to function as a daily driver. Most art cars are created for parades and special events, but my spaceship car can reach highway speeds without losing any pieces. I've had three spaceship cars, each more elaborate than the last. My first art car was a 1984 Mazda RX7, followed by a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo, and my current spaceship car is a 1990 Mazda Miata.
I continue to make art cars because it is a way for me to share my art with the community and inspire people to express themselves in unconventional ways. People often ask me why I would destroy the retail value of my car this way, but they don't understand how unimportant retail value is. Instead of being concerned with what I can get out of my car in the future, I enjoy my car in the moment and continue to make people smile. Creating my attention-catching mobile art pieces is an amazing experience. I get more joy out of my connections with random individuals that engage me to talk about my car or snap a picture than any amount of money could provide.

//////////// The spaceship car is constructed out of a mix of materials. The silver foundation is tin foil. The rockets are a combination of charcoal shifters and HVAC components. Some of the exciting enhancements from previous incarnations include an air horn, sound effects, and a fighter pilot stick shift. It is a continual work in progress that has taken 100s of hours, 3 minutes, and 16 seconds.
